And that its successor was a visual downgrade.
The rounded center stack is what ruins it for me. But I guess the more I look at it, it’s not that bad. Especially in comparison to its successor.
It’s another case of lets stick an iPad thing on the dash and call it a day. You know what’s nice about mechanical buttons/switches/knobs/levers? You barely have to look at them, if at all, to find and use them.

I always was a fan of that generation Malibu. I'd totally drive an LTZ V6 model.

I too liked the interior design of the top gen more than the next one. not sure on the current gen.

Agreed on the buttons thing, so much.
My last car had all the controls I needed on the wheel (seems useless until you get used to it). Current car, no amenities and I don’t mind. But Scion had the nerve to ask me about the audio in the car, and I am pretty sure my official response included something along the lines of “Go fuck yourselves, I have a giant useless touch thing that makes horrible music”

I liked that gen Malibu too, looks-wise, at least. The dash buttons have a loose, cheap feel to them. Like all other GM cars, after a few years your fingers wear the black paint off the frequently fondled knobs and buttons so they look like cheap shit too.

I felt that the top one was the last overall good looking bu inside and out. I liked the front end on the next ones but the rear looks like it was just slapped on.
